Graphics for main character's car wash in the Television Pilot "Wining Ugly".
A massive collection of car designs and renderings were provided for House of Lies Set Dressing Department with bespoke renderings being done specifically for the shoot.
Key graphics created for Season 3 of the hit FX show, Justified. A challenging season with multiple last minute script revisions and sudden graphic needs made this one of the most fulfilling shows to be apart of.
Misc. signage for bus stop scene, hero graphics for security company, and misc. vehicle graphics.
With a small budget in mind, I created a set of simplified livery vinyls that would work on both a Crown Vic and Chevy Tahoe. The Trooper Seal was also used by costumes for uniforms, patches, and jackets for the remainder of the season.
Everything from truck signage (new and vintage), hero signage for the city of Harlan, a full coffee store front vinyl, and created a moving truck full of stolen electronics boxes.
Re-purposing the ambulance from the last episode (we still had it on rental) for another town and yet another coroner's van along with some small prescription box labels for our beloved oxy addicts.
Key plot point for this episode involved elections for county Sheriff. More vehicle graphics, costumes patches and a vinyl for Tillman Napier's office door. The vinyl was applied to pebble glass and a reverse was printed on transparent vinyl to give the illusion of hand painted signage. Napier's elections signs were actually recycled signs from locations to fit within budget.
Dynamite packaging, signage for a paycheck advance gangster front, standard news van, and bus stop signage for a fictional Kentucky Derby style event. Justice center signs were engraved and aged to look like aged white granite.
My favorite project from the entire series that never made it to print. The Art Dept. got rolled for not having hired a union graphic designer all season while I was in the middle of ideation. This started as a simple walk and talk in a bank and turned into a full blown heist. I pushed for the name to be changed to a more regional name and thankfully "Gallatin Bank" was approved. The final design played on the Great Smokey mountains that runs through eastern Tennessee and Kentucky. The mountain motif is colored to represent the beautiful foggy mornings that the mountains are so well known for.
Worked with Set Dressing and Art Department to create the majority of gak for the set, Malibar.
A short two week location shoot for the pilot episode of the hit graphic novel Locke & Key. Dan Bishop lead the office-less Art Dept. with some peculiar color requirements from the director. The majority of the graphics for the California side of the show were spent in a high school counselor's office and some simple logistics company logos.
Cold Case had it's own unique sets of challenges as every episode changed era for flashbacks. Sometimes, even the typeface you want to use for a logo wasn't possible because it didn't exist at the time.
This episode spent the majority of the graphic's budget on creating new and vintage record albums for a record label brand, "Ronde Records".
Military paraphernalia for a group of female pilots in World War 2 as well as a bank logo for present day.
Equestrian stables and event signage, "East Oak Lane Stables" was a cnc routed sign that hung in front of the modern day hero stables.
Another episode that focused on the music industry, this time hip hop instead of soul.
A huge set dress for the Warner New York streets. A translator was hired to make sure our Acupuncture sign didn't say "Stick needles in people". Google translate was still in it's infantile stage.
All lattice work was designed created with signage to make for more convincing facades that we were in a Philly Chinatown instead of the Warner lot again.
Some seals for fictional private schools and debate signage.
Logos for our hero Hockey team the Dock Rats and their rivals the Manayunk Chieftains along with a very small sample of the signage we used to fill an entire ice hockey rink.
These dragon and flame vinyls needed to have an overly airbrushed look as it was supposed to be done by an ex-graffiti artist. Along with the woman's portrait needed to look in process as well. This is still one of my favorite pieces of work!
A small sampling of the near 50 posters and hundreds of dvd and vhs covers created for a vintage video store set.
Steinwald was a historical book publisher in the movie that focused on war based material. These are a small sample of the covers and spines created for our menagerie of odd shaped old books we recovered for the feature.
Carticular is a passion project that is worked on between shows. The goal is to provide a unique perspective on automotive culture as well as affordable ways to get involved with your own project car.
